My First Love Rose 咱们的初恋玫瑰



Getting Ready: Ball and Veining Confectionery Tool, Brush, Tapered Spatula, Largest and Smallest Blossom cutter, Rolling Pin, Thick and Thin Foam Squares, Shortening, Dusting Puff, Toothpick, Pink and Green Fondant. Optional: Cake Dummy

1. Ready one big and one small of colored fondant ball (as shown in picture 1)
2.Roll the small ball 1/4 in. thick.(if you are using the Wilton Rolling Pin, follow the Purple "Rubber Ring" Guideline)
3.Use smallest blossom cutter to cut 1 blossom shape (Pic 2).
4.Knead and form into a tear drop shape for the rose center (Pic 3).
5.Coat the end of a toothpick with shortening, insert into bottom of rose center.


6. Use prepared Fondant Rose Center. Roll fondant very thin (about 1/16in. or less)(Wilton Rolling Pin- Pink Guideline).Using the largest blossom cutter cut 3 blossom shapes (Pic 5).
7. Place two of the blossoms under practice board flap or cover it with cling film; you'll be working on the remaining blossom shape.
8. Use tapered spatula to make a cut between each petal toward center of blossom (Pic 6 ).
9. Visualize the 5 petal blossom as a stick figure, with the petals corresponding to 'head', 'arms' and 'legs'. (Pic 7)
10. Place on the thin foam and use ball tool to soften the edges of the petals (Pic 8).


11. Move blossom to thick foam. Cup center of blossom shape by pressing lightly in the center with the ball tool (Pic 9).
12. Paint the cupped center of the blossom with water. Insert the toothpick into center of blossom shape and thread up to the bottom of the rose center (Pic 10).
13. Paint the 'head' petal with water and wrap around rose center. Paint one 'arm' and 'opposite leg' and fold up to cover bud, bring up remaining petals (Pic 11).
14.Gently press bottom to shape. Furl back petal edges of outer layer of petals.


15. Prepare the next blossom by following step 8 to step 10. Move blossom to thick foam. Using the ball tool, press the two 'arm' petals to cup. Turn over the blossom and cup the two 'leg' petals and the 'head' petal (Pic 13). Flip blossom back over, cup the center, brush with water and thread onto toothpick.
16. Brush the two arm petals with water, attach, centering them over the seams of the last two petals (Pic 14).
17. Brush remaining petals with water and attach, spacing evenly (Pic 15).

18. Prepare the last blossom by following step 8 to step 10. Move blossom to thick foam. Using the ball tool, cup all petals. Turn blossom shape over and cup center (Pic 16).
19. Brush center with water. Thread toothpick through the center of the blossom shape.
20. Invert rose and let petals fall naturally into place. Gently press petals against the base to attach (Pic 17 & 18). Let dry.
